Get To Know Our Team
Diane Gold
Owner, Veterinarian
I am beyond excited to welcome you to the Mer Bleue Veterinary Hospital.
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2015 and soon after joined the team at a local, 24-hour emergency hospital. Having developed a passion for preventive medicine and wanting to build long-lasting client and animal relationships, I then worked in general practice for three years.
My goal has always been to make the veterinary visit a stress-free experience for both humans and their four (sometimes three) legged companions. Having had many animals myself (including dogs, cats, hamsters, frogs, birds and fish) that required veterinary attention, I know how stressful it can be to bring both a healthy and sick animal to the vet.
I am originally from Vancouver, BC and moved to Ottawa to join my husband, Michael, who was born and raised here in Orleans. On our days off, we love anything and everything outdoors – hiking, camping, canoeing, biking, gardening… I’m always open to talking about new camping spots and bike trails! Over the cold Ottawa winters which I’m still getting used to, I’m not opposed to enjoying a nice cup of tea in the company of my thrill-seeking cat, Finnigan, my lemon of a rescue cat, Dolly and our newest addition, a kitten named Pacha!
Alexis Eloy
Veterinarian
Being a veterinarian has been my dream since I was very young. I graduated from the University of Montréal in June 2021 and I am lucky to have been doing my dream job ever since! I have a particular interest in developing cooperative relationships with owners and client education, and for complex medical cases that help me flex those brain muscles!
During my time off, I enjoy spending time with my two cats, Penelope and Arya, reading, and enjoying some good food. I am an avid traveler and love discovering new places, cultures and traditional dishes.
Dr. Kristina McLaren
Veterinarian
Dr Kristina McLaren graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in the spring of 2012 and has been working in Orleans ever since. She was born and raised in Orleans, and completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honours at Carleton University prior to veterinary school. She has been fortunate to experience a variety of opportunities including working with non-human primates, and a marine mammal veterinary workshop in Mexico where she got to work one on one with dolphins, manatees and a variety of other marine species.
Her veterinary interests include, but are not limited to, nutrition, behavior, dermatology, and preventative care. Other interests include reading, playing games with friends, and relaxing at her home in Navan with her husband. She has a chihuahua (Jojo) that she rescued when he was 7 and will soon be celebrating his 15th birthday.
Dr. Tina Longtin
Veterinarian
Dr. Tina Longtin was raised in a small rural town in Eastern Ontario and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2012. She initially practiced veterinary medicine in Alberta and the United Kingdom for a few years, but then decided to come back home to Ottawa to be near family. She is very passionate about animal health and wellbeing, and enjoys developing relationships with clients and their pets. During her free time, she used to enjoy playing soccer, hiking, travelling and reading, but is now mostly spending a lot of time at indoor play areas and neighborhood parks to entertain her energetic toddler!
